About
He’s Scott.
I’m Christy.
Together, we’re sharing the stories, adventures, lessons, and everyday moments that make this mountain life one worth remembering.
We are so glad you’re here. Pull up a chair, let’s grab a coffee and talk a while. Here we are - in the prime of midlife and living in the mountains of western North Carolina. I’m a nurse who’s heading back to school (30 years later!) in the fall of 2026, a mom to all boys and doing life with Scott, all while working a fulltime job and having too many irons in the fire already. He & I are raising our black goldendoodle puppy, Rubble, who has been given the title of CDO (“Chief Dirt Officer”). I’m learning to grow peonies, a few other random flowers, and a whole lot of blueberries. I usually have a coffee in hand and a book (or my Kindle) nearby; I believe both fresh mountain air, and a salty beach breeze does the mind and body good.
You’ll hear a lot from me here, but Scott is a big part of this story too. He’s my favorite travel companion, the calm to my overthinking, the person who’s always willing to take the scenic route, occasionally will try something new, and helps turn my ideas into adventures. While I may do most of the writing, many of the memories, photos, and experiences you’ll find here wouldn’t exist wihtout him.
Here you might find a little something about family, faith, our adventures in the mountains and our dreams of one day living closer to the coast. We’ll share the small joys of everyday living - and we are glad you’re here. Whether you’re passing through or planning to linger, I hope these stories and images feel like a friend stopping by to share a little bit of joy.
Welcome.
